I was intending this as a demonstration of the work in progress.

I'll delete it and repost in a new thread if it would make you happier?

that was so far from being in any shape or form a criticism,i apologise if it appeared so.
it has been know for people to be unaware that such a magical facility exists, although i'm sure you are far more conversant with the intricacies of the board than my good self.

# Looks can be deceiving...
six minutes of drunken manipulation doth not a compo-winning entry make. It would be even less were it not for the source material, woo to the original pic (if I didn't say that before)!
(, Thu 19 Jul 2007, 22:28, archived)
# Ta! :)
But I'm sure I've seen previous compo winners that'd taken less than that.

And rather aptly, the message next to the 'preview' button as I type this is telling me: "Jokes are better than technique".

# Apropos nothing in particular....
...is there anyone around who can advise me on optimising a thing I made in After Effects? I've managed to reduce a 450Mb uncompressed avi down to about 4.5Mb, but that's still a tad large for a 16s anim.

I tried exporting it as an animated gif, and it's still 3.5Mb at 180x120...

Apologies for the threadjack.

# You'll be wanting to drop some frames.
Quite a lot by the sounds of it.

If it's still big you could add scanlines.

As usual, if in doubt, ask the all-knowing Lemony:
