how are they configured? via your router or your comp?
I'd try searching google for other DNS IPs and adding them manually on the according machine

Edit: oops, work's firewall is blocking my pings, so I can't really say if they're operational :(

normally, you configure your DNS settings like this
www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/tcpipdns.mspx

but I can't say if it works with dial-up, could depend on your provider (maybe it even isn't possible to use this for dial-up connections, I haven't been on one for years and forgot)
