I'm pretty sure it's a telecoms base station of some kind, maybe for only one phone network or for satellite connections (international calls etc).
That reminds me though, has anyone heard wireless power may be possible in the near future?

There was a sign at the base (there was a big fence around it with small shed type structures and substations) saying it was owned by Orange / hutchinson Telecom.
It's some sort of uplink tower, judging by the vertical antennae and satellite antennae on it... and on a big fecking hill in the middle of nowhere would be a good place for it...
