# I want clarification of the x axis's meaning
Does it mean size of fly? or time, in which case it means the fly is dying and slowly stops this through various swimming techniques.

# When immersed in water
flies do actually get larger- they have special sacs on their abdomen which fill with specially oxygenated blood for a buoyancy aid- they're called Bell's chambers, after Francis William Bell who discovered them.
