I tell you
one day they pick up one bin
the next they pick up the other one
surprised they didn't send out fines for people having rubbish out on the wrong day
something county hall shaped would have been on fire if that had happened, I can assure you.

MILKY MILKY
thats you that is etc.
fucking brilliant. how punt, dennis and baddiel are still going is beyond me though.
(
mr spoons, Fri 9 May 2008, 22:52,

Because they were funnier than Rob Newman?
I know Newman and Baddiel were supposed to be the Lennon/McCartney of TMWE, but Punt and Dennis are actually funnier than they ever were.
/IMHO

did you watch 'punt and dennis' on the beeb?
it was shocking, as i remember it.
(
mr spoons, Fri 9 May 2008, 23:00,

Good point.
I seem to have wiped it from my memory.
Mind you, I also fail to remember that anything that Rob Newman has done since 1994, apart form being called a cunt by Sean Hughes on channel 4.

rob newman
seems to have carved quite a mark thomas/bill hicks type comedy career since then. not all that funny, but intelligent, rambling and political. he did a thing on the history of oil that's worth a watch, and freely available on youtube and the like.
(
mr spoons, Fri 9 May 2008, 23:04,
archived)
I have seen that.
I would remove "intelligent" from what you just said. Rambling, yes. Verbose, yes. Deluded, yes. Paranoid, yes. Intelligent, no fucking way.
(
The Hedgehog From Hell, Fri 9 May 2008, 23:06,

i spose
intelligence is not getting all your information from Michael Moore books.
ill-informed but succintly delivered then.
(
mr spoons, Fri 9 May 2008, 23:21,

I'll concede that.
Let's not fight anymore, it's ugly.

no fighting here. i think you have just succeeded in turning me against the newman.

They were quite funny on Jasper Carrott's TV show, pre-Whitehouse days
and they're intermittently funny on Radio 2 these days. Or at least I think they are, I hear their show approximately once every two years. Is it still going? I don't even know.
Still funnier than Baddiel and fucking Newman though.
(
The Hedgehog From Hell, Fri 9 May 2008, 23:05,
archived)
The funniest thing I ever heard Baddiel say was "I can't get a proper hard-on" in front of his mum
and the funniest thing I ever heard Rob Newman say was written by David Baddiel.
I used to stay up to listen to The Mary Whitehouse Experience on Radio One though.

Ah, happy days, when Radio 1 had comedy on it.
The Armando Iannucci show was class. Remember when they played songs with "The ITV Chart Show" information nuggets over them? "Nine Inch Nails is actually a misnomer. There are eight of them."

You have, by saying the Iannucci's name, reminded me of Ivor Cutler
If you haven't heard him (which I'm sure you have) then do so now.

Of course I know of Ivor Cutler. Good call, though.
