yes. It's 34K now
I haven't used PS in a while, but there should be a 'save for web' option. Also there should be an 'optimize' thing somewhere.
In gimp, there is a 'Optimize for GIF' option under Filters-Animation

Also it helps to manually reduce the number of colors (I set it to 16)
