ah that was a tad unclear...(soz i just read my comment)
the file optimisation is a gimp filter. it removes duplicate bits in frames ie: so only the moving parts of the picture are there on each frame.
if you have gimp its in the filters, animation menu. optimise for gif.

large parts of it do go missing!! it's removing the superflous parts of each frame
just hit playback in the in the same menu and it should play properly
