it was but no scanning. Just pen tool, create path, stroke, delete path. repeat.

# try a simple brush setting
first like this, hard round

and just use that varying the brush size for the thickness of line you want.
After that when you have figured out what's what you can mess with brush parameters and see what lines you can come up with.
