I did it quite a while back...After the death of my late lamented Cat boots, when I went out and in about 7 minutes procured myself an identical pair, which are with me to this day.

My very-long-lived army surplus boots have recently died,I failed to care for the rubber and the soles perished. Still, 12 years of wear is very good for a pair of shoes as far as I'm concerned. Being UK size 12-to-15 (depending on brand) and not a small man I tend to wear things out fast.
