haha.. yup, i presume that came from a flourescent light fitting above ?
if one tube catastrauphically fails, often the silly designers of ye oldy times put one ballast across two tubes. which would result in the remaining tube failing due to over power.
on the otherhand it could of been a modern, fully electronic ballast which went major fail.. in hindsight im thinking more of the latter (the older ones where never as exciting)
