I still maintain the way to make F1 more interesting is to have half the cars going the opposite way round the track

I forget who it was

but I remember a stand-up comedian saying that the best way to make the Oxford v. Cambridge boat race more interesting would be if it were to the death. The same principle could apply to Formula 1.
