I thought I'd have another go. Probably best to click for bigger if you actually want to find it.
Click for bigger (340 kb)
EDIT: Here's a clue.

Nope,
it's in there but it's well hidden. And not in the "it's in the water" kind of way. There is an elephant sat right in the front of the picture.

I can see there's something in the middle of the picture but I can't make anything out

If you cross your eyes and uncross them quickly
you can make the crab snip at his face

Sitting down.
What did you do to get that image? It's not quite what I put there... You have to use the CFB otherwise the compression stops it working.

you need the original pic he linked in his post
use photoshop to find the difference between the source picture and the edited one, then fiddle with the brightness and things.

It's stenography.
Hiding one image in another. I was reading about it today and thought that it'd be perfect for this challenge.
From this: http://www.instructables.com/id/How_to_hide_one_image_in_another_An_introduction_/
Except instead of reducing the colours and reducing the brightness manually I used the levels tool in photoshop.

Friday night is seafood night!
Yeah, I know, but that elephant is in the water; it's practically seafood.
