# He should be selling earphones
A woo cause I really love that film even if it's almost inaudible when I watch it.

# Yes - I saw it at a lousy "art house cinema" in Berkeley (CA) when it first came out
Even then the sound was pretty bad - low production values!

but it was fun.

Dan O'Bannon passed away late last year...

# I know I was very sad when I heard that.
I've got very obsessed with that unrealised Dune project lately. From what I've read, I'm sad it was never made or that much material from the production stages has been realised, apparently due to legal issues (so I read on some comment somewhere..). But I'm impressed that you saw it there and then when it first came out though, I would have loved to have seen it like that, albeit with two large conical brass hearing devices strapped to my ears.

# That same theatre showed "classy porn" at late night screenings
like "Behind the Green Door" and "Decameron" back when they had some production values (a scripted plot, real film, more than $10 in sets and costume.)
A few years later it was home base for the local punk rock bands (Green Day played there a lot.)
