*VOTES*I'd estimate about 90% of people who vote have no idea what their votee stands for, understands the implications of voting for that person, and simply ticks a box, ususally for the same party as they did last time.
Not wanting to compare our electorate to the US, but there was a poll in the states during their election where a shockingly large number of people thought a vote for the Republicans was a vote for Sarah Palin for President.

I think our electorate is perhaps a little better-off in some waysas they would have a notion of who they were voting for as prime minister.
My problem is that one of the main streams of education is tabloid newspaper, which, rather than discussing political issues that should matter to the electorate, in order to make an informed decision, they prefer to focus on utter disgraceful drivel
