This makes me very happy :)
I expect I'll be there for the weekend - Arrive either Friday night or Saturday morning, to sunday night.

so I'll be expecting to be in Devon at least one night, possibly even two.

with a £1.65 postage charge or to be picked up at the box office. I think I shall order today and collect mine on the day! There's also a service charge - anyone want to save a few pennies and buy with me?

An idea I had.
Seeing that several of us are in and around London, and that I'll probably be getting a train from London, do you think we should arrange to meet on the same train and have a mini train-bash where we pick up West-Country people along the way?
(, Thu 19 Jun 2008, 10:11, Reply)
I like it :)
I'm not a Londoner but might be on the London line.
(, Thu 19 Jun 2008, 10:13, Reply)
I might be up for the train thing, but it could be that I'll go down to Cornwall on Friday and come up to Exeter on Saturday afternoon.

I might be going to Devon on Friday too. Need to see if my friend is up for accommodating my person.
BTW: If you book your train-tickets 1 month in advance, you can get them cheap!

perhaps we can work something out!
I'm going to need to book b&b on the Saturday night - any recommendations anyone? Something v cheap and v cheerful.

the Globe Backpackers in the centre of town should be fairly cheap
it has a good reputation and is very central, so would be ideal.

Details here.
EDIT: Just realised you have to bring a form of ID (eg. Passport, driver's licence, student card, etc.).
A bed for 1 night costs £16

Did a bit of research on train times. From Paddington, it's 2 hours and from Waterloo, it's 3½ hours. Normally, the shorter journey would be the best choice, but if I'm sharing the train with my fellow b3tans, I'd want the train-journey to be as long as possible.
In fact, if the train becomes stuck in the middle of nowhere forever, we could start our own tribe of b3tans and live off the nature that the West-Country has to offer and build our own eco-village.

what a marvellous plan. In fact, we could hire some sort of horse and carriage contraption and extend our journey into one of several days. Aah, I can see it now, the wind in our hair, pieces of straw in the corner of our mouths, pitchforks at the ready in case of rowdy locals (i.e. Vipros - being Cornish, I'm not sure about these Devonshire folk).
Mr Spak, I'm thinking of travelling down on Saturday and coming back on Sunday so that I only have to pay to stay for one night. As for which train, I'll probably go with the cheaper option, but if you're coming back after breakfast on Sunday, perhaps we could travel back on the same one? Just let me know when it's time to book tickets.
I've bought my gig ticket! Yay!

OK. I've organised a train bash on the train coming back the following Sunday (27th). My plans for getting there are still up in the air but anyone else is welcome to organise a train bash for the outbound train.

Just thinking about what time I'm going to get there on Saturday - any chance, if we're all around in the afternoon, we can meet for a drink with you, Vipros?
EDIT: Nevermind - Vipros has refused to leave his house (must be something to with Kaol). I'm just gonna get there at about 2pm then.

Right folks.
At Exeter Uni, the tariff for a double en-suite room is £54.95 per night for 2 people sharing and £34.95 for single occupancy. Breakfast is included, but I suspect I won't make it...
Who's staying then?
(, Wed 25 Jun 2008, 20:08, Reply)
Spak and I are staying and sharing a room. Are there twin rooms? If not, I suppose we'll share a double - I imagine we'll be too drunk to mind.
*abandons any moral responsibility*
Shall I book ours?

I'll call and check and see what's going on. Are we staying on a particular campus/bit?
(, Wed 25 Jun 2008, 20:32, Reply)
I just mailed (and will chase up with a call) saying I want a double en suite room and asked what else they need to know...
(, Wed 25 Jun 2008, 20:44, Reply)
Just wanted to make sure we were on same campus - will call tomorrow if I get time and speak to someone.
Thanks ancrenne!
(, Wed 25 Jun 2008, 20:46, Reply)
Streatham campus is the one to go for.

No bath. Can you sleep/vomit standing up?
(, Sun 29 Jun 2008, 22:35, Reply)
I thought it was ancrenne's turn to vom and that kaol and I were on mopping duty.
*realises there are three to mop*
*abandons mop*
*orders pint of gin*

I just have to make sure I only vomit on my own side of the bed.
