The Resident Loon's bi-annual escape from the land of the free and the home of the brave..

If we can get enough B3tans interested to warrant a trip to London then we shall head down and you can play with the merkin...fnar fnar.

I think the pub, (the Cardinal in Westminster), that we went to last time will be good. That means we can stay in Westminster and we'll be close to some of the famous sights of London.

I've done linky to the pub for those who didn't go last time.

I might be able to make this

I'll let you know nearer the time.

(, Wed 3 Sep 2008, 9:35, Reply)
Yeah, you will.

You just can't keep away and you knows it.

(, Wed 3 Sep 2008, 13:10, Reply)
I'll come!

It'll have to be a quick one for me, I'm afraid, as I'm off to Cumbria the following morning...

But miss the chance to meet the Loon? No way!

(, Wed 3 Sep 2008, 9:49, Reply)
Mr Tightly.

That's spooky because we'll have just come back from Cumbria. Keswick to be precise.

(, Wed 3 Sep 2008, 11:24, Reply)
How odd!

I'm going up to Appleby for the first in a long round of upcoming weddings...

(, Wed 3 Sep 2008, 11:53, Reply)
I can hopefully make it!

I'll be at an awards ceremony over lunch (oooh, get me!), which won't be a million miles away, will get there when I can!

(, Wed 3 Sep 2008, 10:00, Reply)
I'm a possibly

but can make no promises until closer to the time

(, Wed 3 Sep 2008, 10:21, Reply)
I reckon I can make this'un.

I can't promise not to be a dribbling, drunken imbecile though.

(, Wed 3 Sep 2008, 10:28, Reply)
Snigger

Oh try - we'd all love to see what you're really like when you're sober...

(, Fri 5 Sep 2008, 10:48, Reply)
* Tentatively signs up *

If I can find enough to keep me occupied from the Southhampton bash until this bash, I should still be in England.

(, Wed 3 Sep 2008, 11:11, Reply)
May well be me on my own

I could do with a day seeing the Turner Prize nominees (I know one of them personally!)and going to bookshops....

So ending the day in the pub just round the corner from my station home with you lovely lot sounds like a plan!

(, Wed 3 Sep 2008, 12:49, Reply)
Yay for that chickenlady.

We shall probably do the art thang ourselves.

(, Wed 3 Sep 2008, 13:33, Reply)
I'm going to meet the Loon!

My pants are getting wet already!

(, Wed 3 Sep 2008, 16:20, Reply)
You're not sitting next to me then

We'd slide off the seat!

;-)

(, Wed 3 Sep 2008, 16:59, Reply)
Oh, Al, you bringing Mrs Geordie?

I like her, she's nice - you should get her to sign up and be a proper B3tan!

(, Wed 3 Sep 2008, 17:00, Reply)
I don't know

I'll ask if she wants to come. I invited her along to met Davros again next Wednesday and she said she didn't have to come to every meeting as she's now met you lot. I think she may have been a bit worried I was using b3ta as some sort of excuse to meet other women.

(, Wed 3 Sep 2008, 17:53, Reply)
I like her

And at my bidding she should appear.

(, Fri 5 Sep 2008, 20:52, Reply)
Oh not Loon again

so soon.

Sigh.

(Yay!)

(, Thu 4 Sep 2008, 13:43, Reply)
I'd love to come to this

but Tourette's will be at work, and we can't afford it at the mo :-(

(, Thu 4 Sep 2008, 16:13, Reply)
Huzzah!

Having been lurking via Generic Handheld Email Device™ for the last little while, I decided I should meet some QOTWers. DG gazzed me when i said i'd try to make it to a meet, but this was eventually a disastrous failure to get to covent garden. So to make amends I'm going to try to make this one.

This place is about 5 minutes walk from my place, so I have no excuse. Leaving work early isn't usually possible, so I'll just be there when I can. I would ask what time you're all staying till, but I imagine that's a silly question?

(, Sat 6 Sep 2008, 9:31, Reply)
A favour you could do me, and a favour I could do you

My friend whose place I usually stay at when I'm in London is not going to be around on this date. If anyone is willing to accommodate my person on the night of the 25th, I would appreciate it, but if not, don't worry too much, as I'll try my luck with the London-priced accommodation. Never mind. I´ll stay in a youth hostel instead.

Also, as you know, I'll soon be starting a job in London, so have decided to move my mountain-bike over on this trip. So if anyone wants to borrow my mountain-bike until October the 13th, give me a shout.

Cheers.

Sounds good.....

I might come to this, if that's all right? It'll be interesting to see all the people who's been keeping me entertained whilst I'm at work!

Also, feel free to punch and kick me for wasting your time, because my posts are as poor as "The Lehman Brothers" bank. Little bit of "satire"* there.....

* = please note, the inverted commas indicates the "quality"** of the satire.

** = same here for the word 'quality'.

In honour of the fact

that Mr Sexmonkey is attending I have written a little song.

It's to the tune of the very, very irritating Frosties advert with the kid that sings the "It's gonna taste gre-at" song.

*ahem*

I'm gonna see Ber-ert.
I'm gonna see Ber-ert.
I can hear the sound of goats beginning to spur-urt.
I'm gonna see Ber-ert
I'm gonna see Ber-ert
He's a randy sod, he buggered me so hard it hur-urt,
I'm gonna see Berrrrrrrt
We're gonna see Berrrrrrrrt
We're gonna love Berrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt!

Shall I book a small room for you and Bert to be alone?

(, Mon 15 Sep 2008, 20:28, Reply)
No it's alright

we're not shy.

(, Tue 16 Sep 2008, 22:14, Reply)
Well I really couldn't miss

The Loon coming over.

Must remember to take the day after off of work!

(, Tue 16 Sep 2008, 10:01, Reply)
Still can't make this

but my disappoinment is quashed by the fact that I'm going to meet the Loon anyway at the weekend. Yay!

(, Tue 16 Sep 2008, 15:27, Reply)
@Davros

And me....you get to meet me again.

(, Tue 16 Sep 2008, 20:43, Reply)
Yeah Davros,

you get to meet BGB again, that's much cooler than TRL, don't you think? Well? Don't you? Don't you?

Don't worry TRL, I'm really looking forward to seeing how hunky you are in real life

(, Tue 16 Sep 2008, 22:14, Reply)
Of course...

that's very true. directions duly printed off and route worked out - should take us around 3 hours to get there, depending on traffic!

(, Wed 17 Sep 2008, 11:29, Reply)
Meh

Only just seen this - and won't be able to make it.

Rather pointless replying at all, wasn't it.

(, Wed 17 Sep 2008, 11:08, Reply)
Have been meaning to come for a bash for ages

And for once I am free. Yay!

Also get to meet the Loon. Double yay!

Plus I've been lurking far too much recently, hopefully this will kickstart me from my lazy ways!

(, Wed 17 Sep 2008, 11:55, Reply)
Sorry folks - can't make it now

I have to go and look around a secondary school for the chicken nuggets.

:(

(, Thu 18 Sep 2008, 9:29, Reply)

Hello all

OK, none of the people attending this know me in any way at all but I like the idea of a slightly random night out in London (I'll be coming from Cambridge).

Do you all promise to be nice and let me get drunk and abusive with you?

(, Sat 20 Sep 2008, 10:42, Reply)
It looks like

I'll be able to make it! Barring a disastrously long-winded afternoon, I'll be there towards 7.30.

(, Thu 25 Sep 2008, 7:38, Reply)
I might actually get there early

I'll be at a thing on Park Lane, which finishes about 5. Might just sit there nursing a pint or two!

Gaz me if you might get there early too: I'll be away from a computer by 10.45 though.

I've finally gotten round to uploading the bash pics. Come and get 'em.
