Oh dear God
I recorded the official fireworks coverage off the Beeb. It was pretty unimpressive on my shit 32" semi-HD screen which was no doubt down to the low quality "professional" cameras being used by "trained" operator idiots.
There were literally scores of keen amateurs in the crowd, holding aloft the very latest in cellphone camera technology. Why can't they use that, clearly far superior, footage? I mean, the poor scamps are queueing for long enough in the pissing rain and then sacrificing any actual enjoyment in order to get otherwise unobtainable and exclusive footage; why does it all have to go to waste in just to protect the undeserved, license-funded jobs of a few fat cats?
I was so angry I put my foot through my phone charger and sent John Logie Baird the bill.

BBC only had two cameras on those swively cranes to film the crowds, and they kept filming the same groups of people
which made it rubbish when trying to find someone you know

I remember the fireworks from the GLC days in the 1980's
From what I remember they had used clay mortar shells, and bits of firework casings were raining down from the sky, quite a few people hurt that night.

I was lucky enough to be flying home last November the 5th.
Got a window seat and all, really looking forward to how it would look from 20000 ft. Fucking shite is the answer. It looked like sparks bouncing off the ground, even the big displays looked awful. The bonfires were quite impressive, ironically enough.
