Source material issues I'd expect
I'm struggling to name three lead comic book heroines who aren't just the female version of an existing superhero.
Superhero tales are power fantasy. The sort of audience they appeal to want to BE the characters, not lust after them.
Edit: HA! A Lego Batman movie? That's one I do want to see.
