Its worse than that.
There is some pretty fucking dodgy footage of statements he made to reporters covering the riots in London a few years back. He speaks as a witness of what happened Ian Tomlinson, but manages to contradict both himself (in other videos) and the generally accepted facts.
So yeah, he's a bit of a spanner!
However, I still don't think he should have been pre-arrested on the day before the Royal Wedding, and the fact that he was suggests that the work he does is of some importance.

He was pre-arrested? Probably as they knew he'd try and do something stupid and make it about him.
He should be pre-arrested every morning.

Yeah
Here he is, at home, being arrested.
The cops involved are very professional and he isn't duffed up or anything; the whole thing is incredibly civilised, but it certainly does seem seem at first glance to be a case of arresting someone on trumped up charges just to get them out of the way for a day or two.

Oh certainly.
He was probably planning to head on down to the Queen's little shindig, and fire up the megaphone during the best bits, in which case he would have been arrested in public.
I would have had no problem with that happening; we'd get see both that the law was being applied fairly AND the potentially hilarious moments of the arrest.

It would have been good but, as with most he does, it would have been utterly pointless.
He seems to do stuff just to advertise himself, he's like a shit Bono, and that is really saying something.
