Sorry to hear that, fella. :(
When our last Boxer had to be euthanized I was a wreck. Non-dog owners don't really appreciate how much of a member of the family they become. When our current one goes it will be even worse, as she is simply the sweetest dog in the world.
Everyone is different, I suppose, and may take years to decide to get another pet, but our last dog died on the Friday and we got a new one on the Sunday. Best decision I ever made.
