This isn't meant as an attack or anything
I knew this person, who, when we were all having fun, would video us. It meant, if we were dancing like pricks, or singing badly, there was documentary evidence of it - and that was really unsettling (Karaoke for example NEVER warrants a rewatch).
So we just stopped mentioning we were going out, and enjoyed the moment.

I sat at a talk near someone recently who slurped his can of coke

I have a video of me singing The Cheeky Song in a falsetto on my backup drive. I see my young face, and I just can't bring myself to delete it, or ever watch it.
Another guy, at another talk tried to assert his masculinity by eating pizza noisily mid-sentence, also noisily.
AND YET I AM COOL WITH NOISEY RAMEN SLURPING.
I should say, I am pretty much incapable of having a conversation online these days. I just share my thoughts that are inspired by what I have read, but without really addressing that thing.
