I cringed hearing the recording of him that night. Sorry mate, but representing authority and the law of the land that was unforgivable.

That said I seem to remember students and anarchist scum misbehaving that night and thoroughly deserving a good kicking. Good thing i'm not a cop

It also details other things regarding the policeman's conduct that day which puts into question his suitability for his chosen career, and that he was abusing his position of authority.

You appear to have overlooked those things in your post though and reduced the story to its most basic point.
