He caught a mole by other means. Then he cut the turf with a very sharp knife in a cross shape. He gently peels back the flaps of the cross in the turf and digs a hole just big enough to accommodate the plastic cup that one inserts into the holes on greens. Then he pops one of these cups in that hole with the mole in it, then he peels the little flaps of turf back over to conceal the mole in the cup. Then he films with a potato and shakes the camera about all the while talking shite as a distraction technique.
