I'm trying to think if there is precedent
Altamont's the only case I can think of where something horrible happening at a gig has stuck with a band to any extent.
If they continue, I can see their next album being reviewed in the context of how it impacted them, but I can't see journalists finding much more to say beyond that, especially when one of the songwriters was not there.

I was thinking something similar about the next Nick Cave album.
It's doomed always to be the one from after the death.
