This is a link post What's the EU ever done for us?
(Except for new sports facilities, roads, school and train station for a region with 40% unemployment)

This is a normal post Err.. EU cash that was ours to begin with
Bollocks like this hasn't helped anything

This is a normal post then here's to hoping that Johnson and the rest
are as keen to see a similar level of cash go to those same underfunded areas.
I have a funny feeling that much less will be making it past the M25.

This is a normal post Yes comrade.
No doubt they'll be giving it directly to JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and all those other greedy capitalists that were so keen for the UK to vote leave.

This is a normal post You know that referendum we just had where millions of people in underfunded labour heartland areas just saw you can affect change via the ballot box?
You see that tiny tory majority?

Ok, now put those 2 together and see how we can make things better eh?

This is a normal post Can you back up the 40% unemployment bit?
Because that's outrageously high.
According to Welsh government figures the current unemployment rate for Blaenau Gwent is currently 9.3%.
Which is still bloody awful but you don't have to inflate this figure.

"nearly 40% of people are either unemployed or not available for work!"
Did they include children and pensioners in this 40%?

Even if you accept the figure, you wonder why people living on handouts are not happy with the status quo?
(, Sun 26 Jun 2016, 7:37, , Reply)
This is a normal post no you're absolutely right about the 40%
I can see exactly why people living there are unhappy with the status quo but I wonder if using the EU referendum as a protest vote is going to help their situation?
(, Sun 26 Jun 2016, 10:55, , Reply)
This is a normal post I expect they hope it'll lead to jobs coming to their area rather than more shiny buildings where the steel works used to be.
And that 40% figure is just an example of how blatantly both sides have been trying to manipulate the voters to their own agenda.

This is a normal post I'm going to reply in the way a certain poster here does:
So, first a question which you couldn't possibly answer, but i'll ask so as to belittle you and your stance, even though it's a question i could in no way answer myself (but let's ignore that).

Statistics, statistics, statistics, maybe i'll provide a link to a graph or something (this looks official).

Here i'll mention lots of companies, unions etc. But i'll only refer to them in abbreviations, this makes me look clever and like i obviously know more than you (but really makes me look like a bit of a prick).

Lastly, if you question me i'll become indignant, handily fuck off for a few hours pretending i had better shit to do but really was pissed off that someone disagreed with me, because everyone is wrong, other than me.

If someone replies with something good though i'll probably come back and post ^this^ underneath it or post "I was just about to type that".

And that's why you're wrong, or something.

This is a normal post I'm going to respond with an unrelated farmyard pun
to lighten up the mood. And udderly fail.

This is a normal post Perhaps,
and I admit I don't know, the people there feel that if the EU hadn't made a trade deal with the far East for cheap steel that killed the market for UK steel, even within the UK itself, there might still be a steelworks in the town?
(, Sun 26 Jun 2016, 12:30, , Reply)
This is a normal post The cheap steel comes from Chinese overproduction
The EU has been trying to ramp up the tariffs on chinese steel (from 15% to several hundred, like the Americans have been doing) but the UK government has been blocking it...

This is a normal post Just goes to show linking together 28 countries leads to bugger all action when needed.
I suspect cameron didn't want to upset the chinese because of that nuclear deal.

This is a normal post Just goes to show linking together 28 countries leads to bugger all action when one of them is the UK
And the tories would rather see harm to European than harm to China

This is a normal post Yes, we're doing them a favour by leaving.
And if this had been an indpendent UK decision I suspect Dave would have found it harder to bury and would have had to answer to parliament.
(, Sun 26 Jun 2016, 15:14, , Reply)
This is a normal post If the UK was independant
Dave would have had less burying to do as it would only have been the steel company complaining instead of the steel companies of Europe and a great many EU states.
(, Sun 26 Jun 2016, 15:22, , Reply)
This is a normal post Not sure I get your reasoning.
If this had been the sole responsibility of the UK gov then the minister in charge would have been called to parliament to explain their actions.

With all things considered it might have been in the UK's interest to not have tarrifs but outside the eu we wouldn't to fuck it up for everyone in order to do so.
(, Sun 26 Jun 2016, 15:45, , Reply)
This is a normal post "explain their actions"
You don't have to explain inaction but you have to explain why you want block action supported by the other member states though.
