This is a normal post My mistake.
Scrolled down, it is a bit mental.

Look, the world today is certainly very worrying - from the level of international relations right down to the street where one lives.

But the threat is hardly existential. From the '50s to the '80s we had the imminent threat of nuclear war hanging over our heads, and before that we had hundreds dying night after night during the Blitz.

Now, whenever a handful of people get killed by some wanker with a grievance and / or a casual interest in Islamist romanticism, everyone has to hold a giant cry-in in Trafalgar Square or wherever, or go all Facebook-filtery until it's no longer fashionable.

People should all fuck off.

This is a normal post I think that part of the issue is that people have been working for years to dress how they wish, free the nipple and vote and drive cars.
That doesn't seem to be very popular to the people cutting heads off and doing the rapey stuff.

Interesting thing about it on the radio yesterday. People pick out unusual events, especially bad events, and overfixate on them. It's partly our fucked up risk assessment, but may also have an evolutionary purpose.
