probably a few thousand volts and very, very, very low current load.
Simple low voltage primary cells stacked into a massive pair of batteries.
I agree that mechanical failure will probably kill it before the batteries go flat.
Really puts a lot of modern battery powered devices to shame though.
Charging a watch every day? Really?
