It's an interesting subject I think
I was pleased when a video of mine got a couple of million views, but realised that it's nothing when I saw my kid watching a video of someone opening Kinder Eggs - 42 million views. Most of these videos are just click bait purely for the ad revenue. Seems like the titles are generated by algorithms, but actual people make the videos - and if they can make enough videos with different variations of keywords, they can make money - sometimes a lot. I don't think there's any dark intentions behind most of these videos (unless it's those pesky Ruskies again)
I imagine Google will get round to doing something about it in the same way they change their search algorithms to downgrade websites using sneaky SEO practices. Eventually.
