This is a normal post It's meh
Meptazinol is not too bad, you get more pain relief for the amount of stomach issues and they look more cool, orange diamonds instead of little white ones, depends on your personal style I suppose... As a bonus it can make you pass out so hey, that means no pain =)

The only effective way to avoid pain so intense you truly wish for death is intravenous opioids.

This is a normal post I had one of those self-administering morphine pumps when I last had surgery
Didn't use it much as I wasn't in too much pain. However, I knew I was in trouble when they came to remove the drain from the back of my cervical spine - they took the lock off it (that meant you couldn't give yourself more than three pumps at a time*) and told me to keep pressing the button until I 'felt sleepy'. I did - took a few but I was definitely a bit 'floaty' when the pulled the drain out. Still hurt like a bastard though.
I've kept most of the post-discharge meds - my medicine box would be worth a few bob on the street I reckon
