Ekart is a horse chestnut, Aesculus hippocastanum.
And although the plaque says he was planted in 1937, he was probably raised from seed on a nursery a few years before that.
I didn't watch the whole video because my internet connection is being crappy, but I quite enjoyed what I saw.
