Dicks.
I went and saw a handover of the torch today, in a village of maybe 150 people there were easily 1000+ of us lined up watching it. It's only really when the bearer bloke jogged away and the dozens of police trudged off to the next handover we looked at eachother and went "what the hell are we doing here?"
Was a good crack though

Seriously though, how did they pick the towns that the torch passes through? They could have picked picturesque sunny (ish) St Ives, but no, they chose Penzance. Straight on at the kebab shop, past Clinton's Cards and Poundland, hang a right at Burton's and past the youth information centre. Great Britain in a nutshell.

They sent out a request for 'invites'
about 3 years ago, and they are only visiting places that asked them to come. I guess St.Ives thought better of it!
