This vid seems to show
the projector automatically mapping to the shape of your room, then the whole system doing augmented reality stuff (the edges of the bookshelves pulsating in time to explosions etc) it's all software design really.
Current expensive projectors can be set up manually to map to geometry, and old 3-gun CRT ones could do automatic self alignment and convergence by the time they became obsolete. But this whole automatically-mapping-to-the-shape-of-your-room and it's contents does not seem to be quite available yet.

3D mapping is what the Kinect does.
If you took a couple of scans with it (pointing it in all directions) you could quickly build a 360 model of the room. The XBOX can then use that data to correctly distort the projected image, assuming it knows where the projector is.
