Edit - just reading about other sorts, there's the one that drives ants mental and makes them climb trees, but there's also one that infects rats and fucks with their heads to stop them being afraid of cats, so that the cat can eat the rat and the nematode can then infect that cat.

It makes humans a tiny bit more stupid and more friendly to cats, if a little suicidal. Its safe to say that Tabby probably doesn't have this parasite:

You're thinking of the cordyceps fungus.
That's the one that makes ants climb stuff then erupts out of their heads and sprays spores out ready to infect more ants.
