I watched some of these get shaved once
I was "helping" with a sheep shearing, and before the shearer left, the owner persuaded him to do her two alpackas. They are not docile like the sheep, which you just sort of judo down to the ground and they sit pretty still.
The way he did the alpackas involved tying a rope around each foot, passing each rope around a nearby beam in the barn, and then pulling them all taut so that the alpacka is in a medieval torture sort of situation, screaming pretty much exactly the same as a human would. They came out looking exactly like that picture, but acutely pissed off at everyone in the room.
