Sam Sallon was the first musician I ever met when I moved to London
He was playing in Oxford St Virgin Megastores, and after his set I asked him where I could find a gig because I wanted to start my career in music - he put me onto Mark Feathers, who ran a jam night in Ladbroke Grove, and I played the night every week for 3 months thanks to his introduction and have now gone on to become... a successful sound engineer instead! I never met him again after that, top bloke, very talented musician.
