If 70mm is amazing, and the only format to see it in, why was it shot in 65mm?

And it's great that someone reveres the old kit. And he'll probably win an Oscar for it because the Academy likes having a big wank over itself. But the film will be awful because its gurning tit of a director buys wholesale into his own adulation and has completely forgotten what a good film is. If he ever knew, which I increasingly doubt.
