Normally I can take or leave this programme, but today's was genuinely inspirational. The whole thing is just fabulous if you're even passively interested in astronomy, but if nothing else listen around 12 minutes for a surreal tale of him getting his arm twisted into writing a book on astrophysics with Patrick Moore and Brian May.
In a world where technophobes and flat-earthers seem to be given increasing credibility through the public media, it is tremendously reassuring to know that there are people like Chris out there driving forward genuine scientific study and thinking.
Apologies in advance that it's an iPlayer link and so won't available outside the UK.
Warning - Contains words and science and stuff. No amusing cats.
