This is a question Public Transport Trauma

Completely Underwhelmed writes, "I was on a bus the other day when a man got on wearing shorts, over what looked like greeny grey leggings. Then the stench hit me. The 'leggings' were a mass of open wounds, crusted with greenish solidified pus that flaked off in bits as he moved."

What's the worst public transport experience you've ever had?

Stupid fucking wheelie cases
It seems that in the last couple of years, the use of a small wheeled suit case has become the norm for a lot of people on the tube. It wouldn't be so bad, except for the fact that they are about the size of a standard laptop case and therefore shouldn't need wheels.

I was behind a woman the other day at Embankment, wheeling her stupid little bag along the platform. This in itself gave her an operating radius of about 5 feet, but what really pissed me off was that at a set of stairs, she pushed down the handle, carried the bag down the stairs, then pulled up the handle, wheeled it 6 fucking feet to the next set of stairs, pushed down the handle, carried it etc..

Get a fucking rucksack or a case that is worthwhile in size so at least i have a chance of seeing it and not tripping over it.

^This^
And why, if you insist on having such a thing, must you stop at the immediate top or bottom of the stairs? Really, you've just carried the thing down/up the stairs. You've proven to yourself that you can indeed lift the sodding thing. You can walk another few meters before setting the case down, lifting the handle and then dragging the thing along behind you.

You utter bell end.

^That
Also - is there some kind of driving test these people can take? It seems to me that they're incapable of walking in a straight line!

Can they be fitted with indicators and a "warning - may stop suddenly and without reason!" sign?

Gah!

^The Other^
My thoughts exactly. They move as if they're oblivious to the fact that they are dragging something behind them.

And is it me, or does it appear as if the case is moving slower than they are?

Pick it up you lazy c*nt! You can carry it out of the station and THEN use the wheels you fucking weakling!

Wheeled luggage ...
... is a sign of moral defectiveness.

They are rather fabulous
For punting over small distances when said owner declines to carry them more than a couple of metres at a time.

I think of them...
as for people who are throwbacks who can use their long monkey arms to drag along the precious tiny box without having to be able to stand upright.

Don't get me started on people who take the slightly bigger ones on planes as handluggage AS WELL AS another bag/laptop case...
