This is a question Thrown away: The stuff you loved and lost.

Smash Wogan writes, "we all love our Mums, but we all know that Mums can be cunts, throwing out our carefully hoarded crap that we know is going to be worth millions some day."

What priceless junk have you lost because someone just threw it out?

Zero points for "all my porn". Unless it was particularly good porn...

Lego - Parent Commando Raid.
My Brother and I used to have two buckets full of lego. We liked our lego, and it was a prized possession. However to my parents it was a throw back to our childhood and not to be encouraged.

One day when I was away at University and my brother who at that time had joined the Royal Navy, and was away at sea. My parents did a commando raid on our room and gave all our lego away to our cousins. so not thrown away but definitely lost.

As you can imagine we were not happy when we found out, but what can you do.

The only real value the lego had was sentimental, but it was our lego damn it.

nobody should have to lose their lego!
it is the most awesome toy ever created and the sole reason i will tolerate babysitting. make your parents feel guilty by saying you wanted to become an architect but, when they gave away your lego, you lost all interest in architecture as you were far too saddened by the loss of your lego.
that should do the trick!

^^ I agree
A child's Lego is sacrosanct... even when you grow up & leave home. Parents should sign a contract when they buy Lego for a child, to not ever throw it away without the child's say-so.

Thankfully, my parents (god bless them) haven't thrown out my old lego. Visiting with my folks a year ago, we pulled it out for some visiting young kids to play with. It still has my (& my brother's) toothmarks, drool & encrusted grime from nearly 30 years ago.

I wouldn't touch the filthy stuff now, but I'll be damned if I let them throw it out. To me it's utterly priceless & completely irreplaceable.
