The "Popular" page was a great idea, but I'm of the opinion that the FP should be updated much more often - there's certainly more than 2 pics a day that deserves that recognition (on a good day!). As I write this there are pictures 7 days old on the FP. I also notice people seem very restrained in promoting pictures by clicking "I like this". Some people can't hang around the board all day, so a constantly updating "best of"-list fit for viewing a few times a day would be convenient.
I also believe all the people sharing my lack of aestethical talent should refrain from posting mindnumbingly boring and unexceptional stories for the QOTW's. I try to be helpful* in promoting good stories (according to my own taste), but there's just so much boring shite by lazy, dull, uninteresting people, especially on the QOTW and compo, that I never bother to read through all of it anymore. Which means that if you have a good story to tell but, say, work for a living and thus can't hang around with your finger on the (mouse)trigger to be THE FIRST OF ALL TO POST WHICH MEANS THAT YOU END UP AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST PAGE ANYWAY, I probably won't get around to reading it. Sorry.
Maybe I should start reading the QOTW's from the middle or something? Now there's an idea.
