# Houpla!
[Edit: rob, if you're still on the board, I transferred £10 to your account a couple of days ago, it should arrive soon. Can I have my kitten, spider and dalek please?]

# Can I ask
how do you transfer money? Just walk into the bank and give them your passbook, and robs details?
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 22:49, archived)
# I use Nationwide's online bank
from which I simply enter rob's bank details and £10 and it squirts from my account to his with only a three day delay. (Better than cheque posting and clearing time.)

Most people who use a regular bank won't be able to access this system will be able to access it if you have a current account (BACS, short for Banks Automated Clearing System), I think. Best to use a cheque if you don't bank online.

# Well..I'm just a lad.
I use Nationwide, SmartAccount (for kiddies), I even signed up online, but it doesn't let me transfer money
(, Wed 3 Sep 2003, 22:53, archived)
# Nope. FlexAccounts only.
If you're old enough to get one, it's worth it, 'cos you can transfer money between the two instantly online. Great interest rate from the Smart Account, all the features of the Flex.

# BACS
is a company that is "owned" by all the major banks and they all use BACS. If your bank doesnt have online banking i would be very suprised indeed as all the biguns do have some sort of online jiggerypokery. paypal and nochex have a similar thing with the banks also or you can set yourself up with BACS if your a ltd company and do account to account transfer without your bank interefeing
