that's either some top grade potatoshopwork
or a really fucked up bridge... Woo,yay....

I wasn't sure
but I found where the end of the bridge was cloned from, so I'm voting "top shoppage" too!

yes that was my clue as well.
the water cloning is flawless as far as i cant tell.
<pedant> the other clue is the shadow of the bridge now contains
the reflection of the cloned end area. the reflection and the
shadow of the bridge would not occur in the same area though.</pedant>
but overall a big woo yay and houpla

Well...
...The elements are superb...BUT the give away is that the reflection of the end of the bridge is attached to the bridge shadow. You can clearly see the end reflection appears OVER the reflection of the bridge parapet, where as the parapet, being closest to the water should be seen as being over the reflection of the end of the bridge.
You see the shadow covers everything, although the parapet covers the reflection of the end of the bridge.
I think it is one of the best bits of photo shopping I've seen for a long time though. Trying to guess how it's done is part of the fun.!

Just realised
that the reflection probably wouldn't be in the picture, as the bridge is so high. I just did a quick copy and invert to see where things should line up and found that the end would be about 30 pixels lower than the bottom of the picture.
And the end of the bridge shadow is too far to the left. Look at the shadow lean of the other supports under the bridge. The last supports are level with the end of the real bridge, but the shadow bridge goes out beyond the supports.
Me super pedant!

Mini-oops.
You're right, of course. I didn't think of that.
Thanks everyone for the great comments.

we wouldn't spend this much time pedanting
if it wasn't an impressive pic well worth pedanting about.
excellent work really.

its very good,
but the shadows/reflection is the one area of error

good advice
its also worth trying to imagine what you'd be able to see if you viewing the item from the serface of the water.

yeah
you have to make sure it is exactly symmetrical with what you have above the water line...
then liquify it a little to add ripples etc
lil bit of a semi transparent black mask layer over the top doesnt hurt either :)

You didn't post that to alt.binaries.pictures.rail did you?
(about 8 months ago) Because that seems terribly familiar, if not exactly identical. The same pic was used, and the same bit of bridge was cloned to make the end. I would post a link to it but (1) I doubt there are any online archives of a.b.p.r that go back that far and (2) it would take forever to find it.

No, but it's an old chop.
I did this in March, and posted it to another site. It may have been borrowed from there by ne'er-do-wells of the rail ilk. They abound, the bastards.
