I have a mac and did have telewest..If your mac's connected straight to the cable box (or cable modem) you need to ring telewest and give them your MAC address. (Click on the apple in the top left, then about this mac, then more, then in the new box click 'Network' on the left, then Built in Ethernet on the top pane, and you want the thing like 00:0a:95:db:e9:84 that's marked as 'ethernet address'.
