# When you select magic wand
on the top bar there's a numerical value between 1 and 100. I think it's called "tolerance". Play with that and you should get a result. the two backgrounds are far enough away from yellow for it to work.

# depends what software
if you have a selection tool try and make it spherical (hold shift on the eliptical tool) then drag it to the size of the ball and move it until it covers it.
Or try the magic wand tool.
(, Tue 13 Jul 2004, 14:45, archived)
# i tried that
but when I move the lasso it moves what its selected as well
(, Tue 13 Jul 2004, 14:49, archived)
# you need to make the selection then click the hollow arrow rather than the solid arrow (in photoshop the black arrow moves the selected bit but the other one moves the selection only)
Or try using the cursor keys to move just the selection.
