# it's the subtlety that really makes it special

# I think something like this
got FP'd right after Bush got elected. It was as funny then as this is now.

# except that americans were cunts instead of ar**s

I remember it well

# It was one of the most side-splittingly clever
pictures that I think has ever been posted on here.

# well, the English were saying Americans were stupid cunts
when I moved to Europe ten years ago, this was
when Clinton was president. So Bush is merely
an excuse for this sort of petty and jingoistic
stuff.

# That's hardly correct.
There is little wrong with Americans that bringing them out of the shadow of disinformation would solve. It's not the Americans that are the problem. It os the incumbent government who are little more than a private oil ogliarchy that are the biggest threat to world peace right now. And I fought in the Gulf war so think before you attack me.

# *thinks*
You fought in the Gulf War so, I should be aware
(a)of your intellectual prowess?
or
(b)that you might
shoot me like a Brazillian??

What I'm saying is that this constant American
(and to a slightly lesser extent French and German)
bashing has nothing to do with the current political
situation, it's been going on for a long time and
is part of the English character.
There are many exceptions, but in general,
the English are the most jingoistic people I've
ever encountered.

# It's because
They're still bitter that Americans broke off of them and made a way more badass country.
(, Sun 14 Aug 2005, 19:21, archived)
# actually
I think it's because, while the English travel
quite a bit, they tend not to interact much
with the local cultures. They usually don't
speak any languuages, nor care to. And when
at home, they are rather confined to their
local patch.

# Well
England is right there with all those other European countries. All we have is Canada and Mexico. No one likes those places.
