If that's the rifle I think it is.
Then those are so fun, but fucking annoying when the cunt next to you is firing blanks right past your ear and ends up getting his/her rifle jammed 'cause they can't pull the handle right back.

Hmm.
It's an SA80 and, if they are firing blanks, they should have a BFA (Blank Firing Attachment) on the front (a big yellow thing which forces the gasses back into the chamber).
Whilst poorly maintained SA80s do jam, it would only be necessary to cock it before the first shot as it is, generally, a semi-automatic weapon (It has an automatic setting, but it is only really used for trench clearing).
This seems to have a strange addition to the cocking handle, the sights and the end of the barrel - maybe it has a .22 conversion or something?

If you're under 18 you're not allowed to use automatics.
/Cadets for 6-8 months. I got sick of them.

I also know that the cadets at golden hillock has a number missing on the diagram of said gun.
Whilst the others were going over the basics of map reading. I was looking for spelling errors in things.

Actually my pedantic friend
;)
It's a CGP ( cadet general purpose ) L98A1
( single shot conversion for cadet use )
It requires cocking for each shot and the handle extension is there to help small hands achieve this. They never have a flash supressor either.

the best shirt I ever owned was a RL - grey and light blue vertical striped
it lasted years and years without fading or looking scabby at all. I gave it to my dad about 4 years ago and found out he still wears it. That's a total of 7 years wear from one shirt... not bad at all.

BFAs are not flash suppressors,
They do serve in that capacity, but they actually exist because, without a projectile, there is not enough gas pressure to re-cock the weapon, so they force the gas into the cylinder.
Clearly, if Cadets have single shot weapons then this is pointless.
[EDIT: Just read the Wiki article and they are talking about what we called flash eliminators, which makes my post utterly irrelevant. Please ignore me.]
