# he mistakenly believes he can fly
also, I am having a dilemma with this newfangled 'digital downloads' shenanigans - do I download the mp3s (cheaper) and GET IT NOW or do I order the CD (not cheaper) and GET A REAL TANGIBLE THING with packaging and artwork an that subject to Royal Mail's thieving policy?

edit: right, CD it is then
(, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:34, archived)
# The latter

because you can always go to mp3 from there, not the other way around
(, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:36, archived)
# Yeah, someone should really get round to making some sort of Seedy burning apparatus
:/
(, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:38, archived)
# Don't bother with the wasteful environment-damaging packaging.
Let's face it, the music will be obsolete in a year's time and you'll have moved on to another fad.

Download the mp3s for free and treat them as the cheap, tawdry tat they are.
(, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:36, archived)
# mp3s are indeed cheap tawdry tat
but cds ain't
(, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:38, archived)
# Yeah they are.
They are to vinyl what Green Day are to punk.
(, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:40, archived)
# no
as early Green Day were quite good, if the actually made music they wanted to rather than what they think people want to hear then they'd now be sounding a bit like U2,ashually that's even worse

Vinyl FTW, but CDs have their place.
(, Tue 13 May 2008, 14:02, archived)
# do you want to listen to it now
or are you willing to wait for a few days?
(, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:36, archived)
# buy it
royal mail don't nick cds as they've no-resale value, you get higher quality music and most online retailers are still using couriers since the last round of strikes for no extra charge
(, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:37, archived)
# *cough* eMule *cough*
then buy things on vinyl.

Support new music.
(, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:39, archived)
# Keep Music Live
*places sticker on MP3 player*
(, Tue 13 May 2008, 14:11, archived)
# download it from isohunt or summit
then when the CD ariives delete the illegal download files.

Thats what I do...cough
(, Tue 13 May 2008, 13:40, archived)
# ^this
if it's good enough that I want to have it for good I'll buy it direct from the band if I can, otherwise get the CD.

If I don't want to keep it, I'll delete it and keep my money.

And if I go to a live gig I'll buy the band a drink if they're good.
