What if you really really really like quite a few games on it?
The point of getting a PS3 (in my mind anyway)
-good games in really high def
-Blu-ray
-DivX so you can download things and then watch it in high def if you can on your telly
-Online gameplay (not that I do that)
And having played the full game I can confirm it isn't crap. Or at least, I didn't think so and neither did my MGS bumming mate.

There are very few good games on the PS3
FPS and Racing games, not great. I don't illegally download things and can't be arsed with online gaming.
So I'd be paying something stupid for one game and a blu ray player.

Hang on.
If you've not played any of the games, how do you know? I found Heavenly Sword enjoyable, if a bit short, Lego Star Wars was ace, Elder Scrolls Oblivion is a fantastic game.
There you go: three games I didn't think were shit that aren't FPS or racing.

I've played on my future housemates, and few other's.
Non of those games are worth buying the console for.
for example, lego star wars isn't an exclusive

a) our console was free
b) they will release further games for it, I'm not stuck with current titles and that's IT.
so I think we're stuck in terms of being able to view this from the other's standpoint.

Oblivion ,like many games
slowly turns into a bad job.
Get item, take item to X. Get thing from x take it to Y.
NO!

So you got bored, in other words.
I've not played it in a bit, but only because we bought MGS4. I still find it a good romp.

I can't stand FPS on any console
I need a mouse and keyboard to enjoy it - Which is a shame. So all fps are out.
But I've got a monster of a PC to play games :) on so no worries.
EDIT: if the ps3 could paly flash movies it would be a tops of system.

As a cynic, I find all of that stuff completely useless.
Don't have, nor desire a HD TV, Blu-Ray (c'mon - waste of time and effort or WHAT) nor the ability to play stuff I've downloaded on a telly (and I'll be fucked if I download 5gig of film over the completely adequate ~700mb in order to watch it in eye-strain-crisp-o-vision). As for online play... I'll do that online. On my PC.

I never got into PC gaming- I've always been a console girl.
I like having a high def TV as I watch an awful lot of films and prefer to see them in as good a way as I possibly can. Films like Casshern, for instance. In my eyes it's pointless watching beautiful movies of a shitty telly, you may as well just poke yourself in one eye and sit too close to a cartoon.

That's fair. I used to be a console gamer until it got tedious and dull. I did get myself a Wii though, and I'm dead happy with it. There's no point in me getting a 360 or PS3 to play games which I could play on the PC, so I opted for the more interesting
and eccentric option. In my eyes it's far, faaaar more entertaining that the aformentioned consoles.

I have a wii.
I barely touch it, it's a console for 6 year olds with the controller sensitivity of a quadriplegic's buttock.
It's fun for half an hour, don't get me wrong, but it's just too.... kiddish.

It's alright.
I've not played it on the wii, I must admit. But still.
