If it is more than 6 months then you get a fine.

This, if I were, theoretically, to somehow manage not to buy a tax disc for, say, 8 months, I face court if I admit to it, so I might, theoretically, choose to just tax from scratch and lie.

edit : and someone has offered me £200 to buy it (saying it was "cheap" ha ha - £50 in my pocket for 3 years motoring) its win win :D - just need another car now then i can sell it :D (i put my hand through the inner rear wheel arch last week - only 6 months MOT left)
