it's a shrewd move though
people will always want Marmite
(except the people who won't of course)

I have always wondered 2 things about marmite.
a) Is anyone indifferent to it?
b) What is the actual social breakdown of the lovers and haters?

It's genetic
You don't get a choice, either you like it or you don't.
There is no middle ground. The whole advertising campaign is based on this.

I am starting to realise that Marmite is a lot more
sinister than I thought it was.....

not always
my missus is pretty indifferent.
Mind you, her Dad loves it and her Mum hates it.
Me, I love it.
So how come our kids hate it?
I never could get the hang of genetics properly.

Nah, it's mostly a clever pick up by the advertisers
I used to really like it, now I enjoy it when I have it but don't have any major feeling either way.
My missus is similar, never been bothered but enjoys it when he has it.
Edit: I don't have any sources to back it up but it seems to me that when they introduced that campaign they made a lot of 'lovers' out of previous haters, something that shouldn't have been possible if it really was that clear cut.

Marmite!
If used in an unshielded environment it can have disastrous consequences
